[Dailycar Design Award] Renault-Samsung SM6 is the winner among mid-sized domestic cars

[Kim, Song-Yi] Renault-Samsung SM6 was chosen as the most beautiful car among mid-sized domestic cars selling in Korean market.

Dailycar, Korean automobile news media, which held ‘Dailycar Design Award 2017’, announced today that Renault-Samsung SM6 is the winner among mid-sized domestic cars selling in Korean market. Dailycar Design Award was held from May 11 to 15. Winners was selected based on the evaluation from 24 judges(70%) and votes from 1000 internet users(30%). The voting system was operated by Nice R&C, Korean research company.

Dailycar held ‘Dailycar Design Award 2017’ to celebrate its 9th anniversary. Overall, the award targeted 58 kinds of Korean cars(13 segments) and 153 of imported cars(14 segments). Based on those 211 models, Dailycar Design Award chose the most beautiful car design of the year.

As there has been no such award in global car industry, it seems to be a good challenge, since Dailycar Design Award picks the most beautiful car in every segment based solely on design.

Renault-Samsung SM6 got 38.4%, and therefore it was chosen as the segment winner of Dailycar Design Award 2017. Kia’s K5 got 27.3% and Chevrolet All New Malibu had 16.3%. There were also Hyundai’s Sonata New Rise(10.5%), Renault-Samsung SM5 Classic(5.4%) and Hyundai The New i40(2.1%).

SM6 was chosen as the winner with Renault’s new design identity that emphasizes luxurious and simple look.
